What Usually Fails First
Most no-cooling calls come down to a handful of parts. The capacitor that starts the compressor, the contactor that switches it on, the blower motor that moves the air, or refrigerant that has leaked out somewhere in the line set.
The good news is that most of those are repairs rather than replacements. A capacitor is a same-visit fix. A leaking line set is a bigger job, but it is still a long way short of a new system. Knowing which one you are dealing with is the whole point of the diagnostic.
